About Us
Introduction to NKFS
In the year 2006 people of Nepal and Korea are celebrating 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Formally the relationship between the two countries may have been established lately but religious and cultural ties existed since ages. Thus there is an age-old close spiritual and cultural relationship between the two countries.
In the recent times ties between the two nations have enhanced further as Republic of Korea is actively participating in Nepal's development through various levels of assistance. Nepal, birth place of Sakya Muni Gauttam Buddha has always remained as a popular destination for the Korean tourists and Republic of Korea a popular destination for acquiring higher education and a temporary working destination for Nepali youths. The Nepali workers on the one hand are fulfilling the scarcity of manpower in the Republic of Korea thus contributing in Korea's development and on the other hand Korean Government by providing working opportunity to the Nepalese youths is not just helping to strengthen the Nepali economy but in the mean time Nepali youths are also getting experience to work in an competitive environment. The experienced and educated manpower can thus contribute in the future development of their motherland. Thus the relationship in the recent times has remained as a mutually beneficial one.
Our Initiative:
In this pretext we the Nepalese students, pursuing higher degrees in the Republic of Korea took the initiative for establishing an association between Nepalese living in Korea and the Korean people who have contributed or are interested in contributing to Nepal's development by various means.
Our Objective:
This association has been established while celebrating a three decade long formal relationship between the two nations, and considering the need for further enhancing the existing age-old ties. We would be focusing mainly on cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries. This would be executed by organizing various meets between the locals and the Nepalese community living in Korea.
At this juncture we would like to admit that there exist various kinds of societies formed by Nepalese living in Korea, who are equally contributing to enhance the existing ties between the two countries and also helping people when they are in a sheer need. In this context our association would also like to participate but our major concern would be to develop a common forum for all the Nepalese community living in Korea. In addition, this association will always work for the betterment of the whole Nepali community temporarily or permanently living in the Republic of Korea. No favoritism shall be provided in terms of cast, ethnicity, language or religion. This would be our major concern.
We hereby outline our specific objectives:
1. To act as a launch pad for cultural and academic exchanges between various agencies stationed in two countries.
2. To provide a common forum for all the Nepalese living in Korea regardless of their caste, ethnicity, language and religion.
3. To help the Nepalese living in Korea, mainly victims of any mishap, for example disease or an accident.
4. To help the underprivileged, more so focusing on education of the orphans in Nepal.
5. To help the country in case of a natural disaster by raising funds among the Nepalese living in Korea and the Korean people who are willing to support.
6. To help enhance the ties between the two countries though any possible way. Thank you !!!!!!!
